2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Throttle Body Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Throttle Body on 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Initially, remove the air cleaner tube connected to the throttle body and detach the electrical connectors found at the IAC motor and TPS. Afterwards, remove all the control cables from the throttle body lever arm, referring to the instructions for the Accelerator Pedal and Throttle Cable. Notice and unscrew the bolts that attach the throttle body to the engine. Take out the throttle body from the intake manifold and have a look at its O-ring. After installing, make sure the O-ring in the throttle body-to-intake manifold is not damaged and replace it if it is. Make sure the mating surfaces of the throttle body and intake manifold are clean and after that, attach the new O-ring and snap on the throttle body. Fix the throttle body in place by tightening the three mounting bolts to 12 N-m (105 in. lbs.). After that, fit the control cables, reconnect all the electrical connections and fit the necessary vacuum lines, before installing the air plenum.
