• Q: How to Service and Repair a Throttle Body on 2004 Jeep Liberty?

  A: Before working on the throttle body, remove the tube connected to the air cleaner and disassemble the IAC motor and TPS's connectors. After that, take out the control cables connected to the throttle body arm lever as shown in the instructions for the Accelerator Pedal and Throttle Cable. Remove the throat bolts by unhooking the vacuum lines and take out the three bolts holding the throttle body before pulling it off the intake manifold. Examine the O-ring at the connection between the throttle body and the intake manifold and change it if required. Make sure that the throttle body and intake manifold are clean and after that, set in place a new O-ring. Put the throttle body back onto the intake manifold and fix it with the three bolts, turning them to 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) torque. After that, put back the control cables, electrical plugs and required vacuum hoses and connect the air cleaner duct to the throttle body.
