2004 Jeep Wrangler Oxygen Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain an Oxygen Sensor on 2004 Jeep Wrangler?
A: Because the engine's components can be quite hot during use, begin your oxygen sensor inspection only after the engine has cooled. Lift the vehicle first, then remove the wire connector from the O2S sensor by pulling at the connector and not the wire itself. Remove the O2S sensor using an oxygen sensor tool and make sure to clean the threads in the exhaust pipe with the perfect size tap. When fitting the O2S sensor, own undermining that the factory applied anti-seize compound to its threads, so you should not apply any more. Mount the O2S sensor, secure it to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs) torque and attach the wire connector to it before bringing the vehicle down.
