2004 Jeep Wrangler MAP Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a MAP Sensor on 2004 Jeep Wrangler?
A: You will find the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor at the back of the intake manifold and it is sealed with an O-ring. First, take out the MAP sensor connector, then give the area of the sensor a good cleaning. Then, remove the screw holding the sensor in place, using a TORX tool and take the sensor out of the car's intake manifold. Check if the sensor O-ring is broken in any area. When installing, clean the opening in the intake manifold for the MAP sensor and inspect the seal for any defects. Place the sensor inside the manifold and put the screws in place, turning them to 3 Nm (25 in. lbs.) torque before you plug in the connector.
