2004 Jeep Wrangler Throttle Body Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Throttle Body on 2004 Jeep Wrangler?
A: To work on the throttle body, start by taking off the air cleaner tube placed at the throttle body and removing the connectors from the IAC motor and the TPS. After that, get rid of all the cables attached to the throttle body lever arm and take out the necessary vacuum lines. You should now remove all three aviation screws holding the throttle body to the intake manifold, checking the O-ring between the two parts for damage at the same time. While doing the installation, examine the O-ring, change it if it is damaged, clean each mating surface of the throttle body and intake manifold and put on a fresh O-ring. Connect the throttle body to the intake manifold once more, use the three bolts to secure everything, tighten them to a torque of 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) and then place back the control cables, electrical connectors and vacuum lines. Place the air cleaner duct into position around the throttle body.
