2004 Jeep Wrangler Wiper Motor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Wiper Motor and Its Rubber Boot on 2004 Jeep Wrangler?
A: The first thing to do for a front wiper motor and rubber boot repair is to take out the front wiper module from the cowl plenum. After that, release the retainer that holds the wiper motor pigtail wire connector to the front wiper module bracket. Turn the front wiper module over, remove the nut holding the wiper motor crank arm to the wiper motor output shaft, then take out all three screws that secure the wiper motor to the bracket. When everything is removed, pull the wiper motor out from the front wiper module bracket. Put the wiper motor onto the front wiper module bracket and attach the three screws to 8 Nm (70 in. lbs.). After that, hold the wiper motor crank arm to the front wiper motor outlet shaft and screw on the nut until it reaches 12 Nm (101 in. lbs.). Engage the pop-rivets in the holders on the cowl plenum sides and then plug in the fuse link connected to the fuse relay socket in the underhood fuse panel 2 when this step is done.
