• Q: How to Safely Service and Repair a Headlight Switch on 2005 Chrysler Crossfire?

  A: Before servicing the headlamp switch on a car with air bags, disconnect the battery negative cable to turn off the air bags, then wait at least two minutes for the system to discharge. First, take off the negative battery cable and then unscrew the lower instrument panel. Release the four locks on the harness that are found at the back of the headlamp switch. Second, take off the headlamp switch interior trim panel, then unscrew attachment screws numbered 3 and 5. Then, pull the switch for the headlamps out from the rear of the lower instrument panel. During installation, attach the headlamp switch to the bottom of the dashboard using screws numbered 1 and 2. Attach the headlamp switch interior trim panel, join and secure the harness connections at the rear of the switch and finally set in the lower instrument panel. Make sure to attach the final, negative battery cable.
