2005 Chrysler Sebring Heater Core Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Service and Install a Heater Core on 2005 Chrysler Sebring?
A: When servicing a heater core on vehicles fitted with air bags, turn off the air bag system by removing its negative cable, waiting two minutes so the system discharges and then reconnecting it. Take the HVAC housing out and remove parts inside it to allow access to the heater core. A deformed or damaged heater core insulator should be replaced as soon as possible. Remove the heater core and its protection pad from the lower half of the housing inside the car. Assemble the evaporator to the bottom side of the housing, then pop in the heater core, checking that the insulator is in place. Afterward, bolster the housing back together. After taking out the heater core, flush the cooling fluid before you fit the HVAC housing assembly.
