Heater Core in Chrysler Sebring automobile is also responsible for blowing hot air into the car cabin each time the heater is turned on. Of the same work as a radiator in general the Heater Core use the water-and-antifreeze mixture to take heat away from the engine. This heat is then transferred to the air that is to be supplied to the cabin by a fan that circulates air over the core This core is usually made up of materials such as aluminum or brass and isprovided with fins to improve heat transfer. Through the years of manufacture of Chrysler Sebring models there could be variations of the Heater Core design, the kind of valves with flow regulating properties or doors to block the core. Higher tier systems may use electromechanical actuators to finely control the environments temperature. Problems associated with the Heater Core consist of blockage, leaking, and corrosion and this commonly present some kind of difficulty in the process of repairing because the dashboard may have to be almost dismantled.

Chrysler Sebring Heater Core Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Heater Core on Chrysler Sebring?
    A:
To handle and repair the heater core, the first thing is to connect the negative Battery Cable and unload the HVAC housing from the vehicle. Next, pull out the connector from the recirculation motor and take out the wiring harness connector from the housing's upper part. Lift the seal from the evaporator coil inlet and outlet, then raise the retaining screw on top of the housing. Take the upper housing apart from the lower housing and lift the heater core out of the bottom section. Start by fitting the new heater core in the lower housing, then join the upper housing to the lower housing and screw it it place. Put in the evaporator seal, hook the HVAC harness onto the upper housing, connect the recirculation motor and lastly replace the HVAC housing.
  • Q: How to Maintain a Heater Core on Chrysler Sebring?
    A:
Before servicing the heater core, open the HVAC housing assembly and move it onto a workbench. First, take out the left side front floor duct. Should the foam seal on the flange be damaged or deformed, it needs to be replaced. Then, get rid of the foam seal from the flange located on the front outer wall of the housing. After that, use the screwdriver to retrieve the screw on the front of the unit and remove the flange. After finishing, unscrew the bracket securing the heater core tubes to the left of the air distribution housing. Since we are working with RHD models, make sure to remove the air distribution housing outside the HVAC housing. Pull gently on the heater core which is on the driver's side of the air distribution housing.
