2005 Chrysler Sebring A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair an A/C Hose Suction Line on 2005 Chrysler Sebring?
A: First, you should remove and separate the negative battery cable and then retain the refrigerant inside the HVAC system. Lose the bolt from the suction line on the A/C compressor, take the suction line off and get rid of the O-ring. Put plugs over the suction line and compressor fittings, un-tape the lines in the engine bay, take out the bolt holding the refrigerant line bracket to the shock tower and pull the suction line from the bracket. After that, remove the screw attaching the refrigerant line tapping plate to the expansion valve, separate the suction and liquid lines from the valve and toss out the O-ring seals. Again, make sure the headwise ports and liquid line fittings are sealed, as is the engine side of the expansion valves. Attach the suction line termination into the engine compartment and take away the tape or plug from each of the ports and fittings. New rubber O-ring seals should be lubricated with clean R-134a refrigerant oil before being installed on the ends of the liquid and suction lines, using only the approved O-ring and oil for the A/C compressor system. Fit the liquid and suction line fittings onto the A/C expansion valve, carefully place the suction line into the retainer bracket and mount the bracket on the right side of the shock tower with the bolt. After removing the tape or plugs from the suction line fitting and compressor port, rub some clean refrigerant oil on the new rubber O-ring seal and put it on the suction line fitting. Attach the suction line with the bolt firmly and tighten it to 22 N.m (16 ft. lbs.). After that, attach the negative cable to the battery. Afterward, move the system and recharge it with the refrigerant gas.
