2005 Dodge Dakota Window Regulator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Rear Door Window Regulator on 2005 Dodge Dakota?
A: The first step to fixing or repairing the rear door window regulator is to take out the watershield. Install the window switch just for this step and then reposition the glass to see the glass clamp screws. Loose off the screws of the clamp, put the glass all the way up and secure it by putting tape over it. Unplug the electrical connector and then unscrew both of the lower regulator bolts and the bolt at the motor. Put the key in the lock and turn it while loosening the central regulator bolt. Afterward, loosen the other two regulator bolts at the keyhole slots, lift the regulator from the holes and pull it from the door. To install the regulator, put it into the door and drive the bolts into the keyhole openings. At the motor, set the first bolt and the two low bolts and then tighten all of the regulator bolts to 10 N.m (85 in. lbs.). Attach the electrical connector, take off the tape holding the glass in place and set the glass into the glass clamps. Place the window switch and lift the glass to its highest point before you finally screw in the clamp holding the glass. Lastly, take out the window switch and add the watershield.
