  A: Service for the Air Bag Control Module requires you to turn off the supplemental restraint system by disconnecting the battery negative wire and letting the system discharge completely for at least two minutes. Don't strike or let the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) fall, as it houses the important impact sensor for deployment; if it is dropped, the module is no longer usable and must be ditched. Never replace the Occupant Classification Sensor (ORC) and Occupant Classification Module (OCM) at the same time in vehicles with the Occupant Classification System (OCS), because you will make a fault that cannot be resolved. First, remove the negative battery cable and next unbolt the center console from its location in the transmission tunnel. Take out the two body wire harness connectors from the ORC by depressing their release tab and raising the lever arm.
