Q: How to Service and Repair an Intake Manifold on 2005 Dodge Durango?
A: Start by removing the negative terminal from the battery and then take out the resonator assembly and the air inlet hose. Remove the cables from the throttle and speed control, plus the electric connectors for the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor, Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor, Throttle Position (TPS) Sensor, Coolant Temperature (CTS) Sensor and Idle Air Control (IAC) Motor. Unhook the vapor purge hose, brake booster hose, speed control servo hose and positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose and afterwards remove the generator and air conditioning compressor electrical connections. Disconnect the left and right radio suppressor straps, take the ignition coil towers out and remove both the top oil dipstick tube bolt and the connected ground strap. After bleed the fuel system, take out the fuel rail and throttle body assembly, along with its bracket. Empty the cooling system when the coolant is below temperature, open the engine front cover, remove the hoses from it and the heater core, disconnect the heater hoses and tubes from the intake manifold and remove the coolant temperature sensor. First, unscrew the retaining fasteners that hold the intake manifold in place, reversing the initial tightening order and then remove the intake manifold. Begin your installation by putting the intake manifold gaskets in place and then install the manifold over them. Place the intake manifold retaining bolts, then tighten them to 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.) in the order shown. After that, refit the left and right radio suppressor straps, the throttle body assembly and connect both cables from the throttle to the throttle body. Attach the fuel rail and ignition coil towers and after that, fit the heater hoses and tubes to the intake manifold, securing them to the heater core and engine front cover. Reattach the MAP Sensor, IAT Sensor, TPS Sensor, CTS Sensor, IAC Motor, ignition coil towers and fuel injectors cables. Then, put in the oil dipstick tube retaining bolt and ground strap, attach all the generator connections, reconnect the hoses for vapor purge, brake boost, speed control servo and PCV, fill the cooling system, attach the other air inlet parts and link the negative cable to the battery.
