2005 Dodge Ram 2500 A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair an A/C Condenser on 2005 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: Before servicing the HVAC condenser, take out the refrigerant from the system and cut off the negative lead from the battery. Following this, unplug the A/C discharge (1) and liquid (3) lines from the A/C condenser (5), then free the A/C condenser from the charge air cooler by removing the bolts (2, 4, 6 and 7) and remove it from the engine compartment. If the A/C condenser is to be replaced, add 30 milliliters (1 fluid ounce) of the refrigerant oil to the refrigerant system. Set up the A/C condenser (5) in its position by the engine and then bolt it on using 10.5 N.m (95 in.lbs.) of torque with the bolts (2, 4, 6 and 7). After removing the tape or plug visual at the liquid line fitting and condenser outlet port, coat a new O-ring rubber seal with clean oil, install it at the liquid line fitting and select an O-ring of the special R-134a material according to the instructions. Fasten the A/C discharge line (1) and the A/C liquid line (3) to the A/C condenser, reconnect the negative battery cable, pull out all the refrigerant and recharge the refrigerant in the system.
