2005 Dodge Ram 2500 A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair the Rear Section of an A/C Hose on 2005 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: First, let the refrigerant out of the system and then remove the negative battery cable. Remove the air filter housing on gasoline engine cars and remove the passenger side battery from diesel engine vehicles. First, push the end of the rear A/C liquid line partway out of the body retaining clip, then remove the secondary clip from the spring-lock coupler at the connection of the front and rear liquid line parts. With the proper disconnect tool, disconnect the front section from the rear and throw away the seal. Remove the spring-lock coupler's secondary retaining clip after removing the first clip and again cut the AC liquid line from the evaporator tube, discarding any seal. Tape or plug the open ends of both the A/C liquid lines and evaporator inlet port. After that, take out the back section of the A/C liquid line from beneath the hood. For installation, reach the rear section of the A/C liquid line inside the engine compartment and take off the tape or plugs that cover its open ends. Apply the specified oil for the R-134a system to a fresh seal and place it on the rear liquid line fitting, spring-lock coupler type. Join the rear part of the A/C liquid line to the evaporator inlet tube and secure the secondary retaining clip to the spring-lock coupler's body. Put the A/C liquid line into the body retaining clip and add some oil to the new seal for the spring-lock fitting of the liquid line up front, after which align and fasten the rear section to the front section. Insert the secondary retaining clip onto the spring-lock coupler and after that, fit the filter housing for gasoline or the battery tray for diesel back into place. Connect the negative battery again, drain any refrigerant out and charge the new refrigerant into the system.
