2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Blower Motor Resistor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Blower Motor Resistor on 2005 Dodge Ram 2500?
A: To work on a blower motor resistor, make sure your car is without air bags by disconnecting the negative battery cable and wait two minutes so the air bag system can discharge. Wait at least five minutes after powering off the blower motor so that the resistor cools before doing anything else. The first thing to do is disconnect the negative battery cable. After that, unplug the wire harness connector near the blower motor from the blower motor resistor found under the instrument panel. Only the two screws holding the blower motor resistor in place are needed to be unscrewed and then the entire resistor can be removed. Install the new blower motor resistor above the blower motor in the HVAC housing opening by screwing it onto the base with two screws at 2.2 N.m (20 in.lbs). After that, put back the wire harness connector to the blower motor resistor and place the negative cable back on the battery.
