How to Service the A/C Switch in the Heater Control Assembly on 2005 Dodge Ram 2500?

To service the A/C-heater control assembly, start by blocking the air bag system on cars with air bags by eliminating the negative battery cable, then resuming two minutes later until the air bag capacitor is empty. Disconnect the cable that goes to the negative battery as your first step. After that, pull out the central bezel of the instrument panel and unplug wire harness connectors 3 and 4 from the A/C-heater control 1. Put the center bezel on a workbench and get rid of the two screws 2 that fasten the A/C heater control to it, then remove the A/C heater control. When putting the A/C-heater control 1 into place in the instrument panel, hold it with screws 2 and tighten them to 2 N.m (17 in.lbs.). Plug the end of wire harness connector 3 into the A/C-heater control, connect wire harness connector 4 to wire harness 2, then set the instrument panel center bezel in place. Now, attach the black battery cable back to the vehicle's body.
