2005 Dodge Ram 3500 Brake Booster Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Properly Bleed a Hydraulic Brake Booster on 2005 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: When you want to bleed your hydraulic brake booster, fill the power steering pump reservoir before starting. Later, turn off the fuel shutdown relay and try to crank the engine for a bit, making sure to check the fuel system for the relay and keep an eye out for any indicator messages. After you drive, inspect the fluid level and add more if it's below the recommended mark. Reattach the fuel shutdown relay and start the engine, then move the steering wheel left and right twice, turning it all the way. Shut the engine down and let the accumulator drain by pressing the brake pedal five times. Engine functioning normally. Then turn the steering wheel to the lock position and then slowly turn the steering wheel to its complete opposite position (unlocked) twice. After that, turn your engine off and look at the fluid level, adding more fluid if required. If your fluid foams during this process, allow the foam to disappear and follow the last two steps again.
