2005 Dodge Ram 3500 Brake Line Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service the Rear Brake Line on 2005 Dodge Ram 3500?
A: A prop rod should be used to hold up the brake pedal, isolate the master cylinder and keep fluid in the system during brake hose servicing so bleeding happens only where needed. Raise the vehicle, then disconnect the brake line from the hose on the frame and remove the clip at the top of the brake hose. You should remove the brake hose vent at the top of the hose first, then remove the vent hose (2) and the two brake lines (3) at the axle. Don't forget to remove the bolt that holds the brake hose at the axle and take out the hose after that. The first step is to install the hose (1) and bolt it in place at the middle of the axle. Relating The Two Brake Lines (3) At The Bottom Of The Hose At The Axle, Followed By The Vent Hose (2) And The Brake Hose Clip (2) At The Top Of The Hose (1) At The Frame. At last, attach the brake line to the hose at the frame, put the vehicle on the ground, remove the support, take out the prop rod from the brake pedal and bleed the area for the brake; if the feeling at the brake pedal is not good, do a base bleed.
