2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Cruise Control Servo Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Cruise Control Servo on 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: Before servicing or repairing the cruise control servo, disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery. Then, disconnect the vacuum line and the electrical connector that go to the servo. Withdraw the servo screw and detach the connective cable from the throttle body. Release the servo cable sleeve by disconnecting its nuts from the bracket, then pull the speed control cable sleeve plus servo away from the bracket to access and remove the cable retaining clip. Take out the servo from the mounting bracket, being sure to note which direction it is facing. For mounting, bring the servo up to the bracket and match the hole in the cable plug to the one in the servo, then insert the cable-to-servo clip to secure it. Insert the placed servo mounting studs through the bracket's holes and put the nuts into place, following the correct torque for tightening. Attach the servo assembly to the cross-support and put in the indicated mounting bolt, making it tight. Fix the vacuum line and the electrical connector on the servo and then bind the servo cable to the throttle body. After that, reconnect the negative battery cable and before turning the engine on, floor the accelerator to check for any bindings in the components.
