How to Service and Repair a Fuel Level Sensor in a Fuel Pump Module on 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

The fuel level sensor and its float are on the side of the fuel pump module. The first step is to take off the fuel pump module from the fuel tank. First, note the correct placement of the connector's pins, then switch off the electrical connector from the fuel pump module. Move the necessary connecting wires from the connector using a terminal tool. First lift the plastic tab near the bottom of the fuel level sensor with a pick or screwdriver while pushing the fuel level sensor down the mounting track to take it out of the pump module. To set the pump up, insert all appropriate wiring into their electrical connectors and the pump module, making doubly sure each pin remains in its right place. Clip the fuel level sensor on the pump, move it along the mounting tracks and then secure it before you reinstall the pump.
