How to Safely Handle a Cruise Control Switch When Working with Airbag and Steering Components on 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Before working with your air bags or related steering parts, disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait a couple of minutes so that the system capacitor is discharged and you won't deploy accidentally. The first step is to take the negative battery cable off the battery. After that, take out the air bag module. Take out the screw (1) that holds the speed control switch mount and after that, disconnect the electrical connector to remove the switch from the steering wheel. Tighten the switch down onto the steering wheel and attach it with the screw. Do so according to the torque specifications. Bring the electrical connection into the switch, put the air bag module back in and once more attach the negative battery cable to the battery.
