2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Parking Assist Distance Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain the Parking Assist Distance Sensor on 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: The first thing to do before servicing the Parking Assist Distance Sensor is to unhook and isolate the battery negative connection. Remove the rear bumper cover and pull the Park Assist Sensor off the retaining plug and take it out. Should the bracket for the sensor be broken, unclip it along with the sensor from the back cover. After installing your sensor retaining bracket, push the sensor inside the bracket until it is fully locked in place. Carefully drop the Park Assist Sensor over the retaining bracket in the back and lock it by snapping it into the housing. Replace the rear secret and link the battery cable back to the negative terminal.
