Before servicing the parking assist distance sensors, first remove and isolate the car's battery negative cable. Rear cleanup involves taking off the bumper fascia and unplugging the wire harness connector from the park assist sensor's receptacle. If replacing a sensor or sensor spacer, carefully use a small tool to lift the sensor bracket latch features off the tabs on the sensor to separate them. You should pull away the released latch features on the fascia to remove the sensor and bracket as one unit if you are replacing the bracket. Lift the O-ring spacer from the sensor membrane if you need to. Place the O-ring around the sensor with the wide side touching the sensor housing's interior. Place the sensor in the metal bracket and make sure the sensor membrane meets the front edge of the car's fascia molding. Reconnect the wire harness and set the bumper fascia in place before you re-connect the negative side of the battery. To remove the front, cut the high voltage, take off the front bumper, dissociate the wire harness and pull off the sensor from the bracket. Replace the O-ring spacer and press it into place and then put the sensor into the bracket so the membrane touches the bracket wall. Afterwards, plug the wire harness back in, place the bumper fascia properly and attach the negative terminal to the battery. Keep each sensor membrane inside the fascia openings and make sure no O-ring spacers are squeezed.
