2005 Jeep Liberty Air Filter Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace an Air Filter on 2005 Jeep Liberty?
A: The first thing to do before replacing the air filter is to disconnect the air intake duct from its point on the side of the cover. After that, lift up the 2 spring clips at the front of the housing cover which help secure the cover in place. Open the house and remove it by pressing the locating tabs at the back of the device. Take the air cleaner out of the cover and clean inside the container before setting in the new air filter. Set the installation air filter into the housing, make sure the cover is lined up with its tabs, press on the two spring clips and fix the cover to the housing with the short head of the socket. Lastly, hook up the air intake duct back on to the machine. Should any air filter, resonator, tubes or housing clamps be missing or slightly loose, tighten them to apply 5 Nm (40 inch lbs.) force.
