2005 Jeep Liberty Cruise Control Servo Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Cruise Control Servo on 2005 Jeep Liberty?
A: You should start by removing the negative battery cable from the battery to work on the cruise control servo. After that, separate the vacuum line and electrical connector attached to the servo. Take off the nuts or bolts from the coolant bottle and move it slightly forward. Pull the electric cable from the throttle body and take out the servo bracket nuts. Take out the nuts attaching the servo sleeve to the bracket and pull both the speed control and servo cables away from the bracket, so you can remove the cable retaining clip. Be aware of how the servo is sitting when you take it out from the bracket. Attach the servo to the bracket, place the cable-connector hole on the servo's pin and then insert the retaining clip to secure the cable to the servo. Attach the servo studs to the inside holes of the mounting bracket and add nuts, turning them as the torque specifications suggest. Furthermore, fit the matching servo mounting bracket to the body and secure them according to the guide. Connect the vacuum tube and power cable at the servo, after that attach the servo cable to the throttle body. After that, re-connect the negative battery cable with the battery and reinstall the coolant bottle. To test for binding, move the accelerator pedal before turning on the engine.
