2006 Chrysler 300 Power Steering Reservoir Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Power Steering Reservoir on 2006 Chrysler 300?
A: You should remove and isolate the negative cable from the battery post before servicing the power steering reservoir. Sysxtract the power steering fluid from the pump reservoir and after that take off the air cleaner housing as well as the inlet tube to the throttle body. Then, take out the hose clamp and remove the supply hose from the reservoir and afterwards, do the same with the return hose. Pull the reservoir gently from the guide in the coolant bottle. Once the reservoir is sanitized, fit it back into the coolant bottle and provide a bit more pressure until it locks together. Align the return hose with the reservoir hose fitting, attach the clamp and then join the supply hose to the reservoir hose fitting and hold it place with another clamp. Instead of replacing the battery, you must simply put the air cleaner housing in place again and make sure the battery negative cable reconnects to the battery correctly. Fill your pump's reservoir with the fluid and operate it through the first startup procedure.
