2006 Chrysler Crossfire Throttle Body Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Throttle Body on 2006 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: You should disconnect the negative battery cable at the beginning of servicing and repairing the throttle body. Pull up on both ends of the engine cover to remove it. After that, take out the inlet tube for the throttle body, separate the connector from the throttle body harness and free the PCV hose that attaches to the throttle body. Release the bolts fastening the throttle body to the retaining sleeve and also remove the small hose bracket, followed by taking out the throttle body and gasket. After you have pulled the negative terminal of the battery, detach the upper air cleaner housing and tubes, then remove the inlet tube by pulling up on its lever. Pull off the throttle body harness, take apart the PCV hose, remove the bolts and the PCV hose bracket and finally get the throttle body and its gasket out. Attach the PCV hose to the throttle body and put the throttle body and gasket onto the engine during the installation. Screw the PCV hose bracket and the throttle retaining bolts to 20 N.m (15 ft. lbs.) and then connect the throttle body harness connector. Place the throttle body inlet tube and engine cover back in their places, attach each with the plastic clips in the mounts and press down to make sure they are secure. A quick coating of lubricant on the rubber mounts helps during installation of the engine cover. Lastly, attach the negative battery cable back to the battery. When using an SRT, attach the PCV hose to the throttle body, place the throttle body and gasket, secure both silver bolts and bracket for the PCV hose, attach the throttle body harness connector, connect the upper air cleaner housing and tubes to the inlet tube and only then should you connect the negative battery cable.
