2006 Chrysler Pacifica Power Steering Reservoir Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain the Power Steering Reservoir on a 3.5L Engine on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: When servicing the power steering reservoir on a 3.5L engine, first unhook the negative battery cable and remove it from the car. Take off the cap from the reservoir and pump out most of the power steering fluid. After that, undo the screws and take the appearance cover off the engine. To detach the return hose, remove its clamp and then take off the supply hose the same way. Remove the two upper mounting bolts from the reservoir and leave the bottom one temporarily loosened. Tilt the reservoir upward so it releases from the lower bolt. Set the fluid reservoir on the lower mounting bolt, secure it by tightening the two upper bolts and tighten all three bolts to 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.). Reconnect the supply hose and place the hose clamp past the bead on the fitting and repeat for the return hose. Set up the engine appearance cover, attach your negative battery cable and bleed and fill the power steering system as described in the Power Steering Pump Initial Operation Procedure. Check the whole system for leaks after finishing installation.
