2006 Chrysler Pacifica Power Steering Pump Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How is the Power Steering Pump Pulley Disassembled and Assembled on 2006 Chrysler Pacifica?
A: For power steering pump service, the technician takes apart and puts back together only the pulley, because it is the only replaceable part. Remove the power steering pump from your vehicle, then pull off the pulley from the shaft of the pump with the Puller C-4333, making sure not to pound on the pulley and damage it. You should change the pulley assembly if it is bent, cracked or not tight. When assembling, set up the pulley with Installer C-4063, do not use any tool adapters and watch for proper alignment with the shaft to avoid cocking. The pulley needs to be in place and flush with where the shaft from the power steering pump meets the engine before the pump is reinstalled.
