2006 Chrysler Sebring Power Steering Reservoir Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Power Steering Reservoir on 2006 Chrysler Sebring?
A: First, pull the remote ground cable from the ground stud found on the left side of the shock tower. After that, place an isolator on the stud to disconnect the cable from the car. Then, use a siphon pump to remove all the energy-steering fluid from the reservoir. Take out the screw holding the reservoir to the engine coolant recovery bottle and lift the reservoir off the guiding post. Get rid of the hose clamps locking the power steering hoses and take both hoses back to the reservoir before unbinding the reservoir from the vehicle. Attach each hose to the tubes on the reservoir, but make certain you reverse the hose clamp and fit it farther than the bent area on the tubes. Slide the reservoir partway down the hose and position it over the engine coolant recovery bottle's guide. Next, fit the mounting screw, tightening it to 6 Newton meters (about 53 inch pounds). Attach the remote battery ground cable to the ground stud located on the left shock tower and then fill the power steering reservoir to its correct level. Flick the starter switch to let the engine run for a bit and then switch it off after adding more fluid when required. Continue doing the filling and running of the refrigerant until the fluid level does not move. Should the pump be installed, do the standard procedure for it and check whether there are leaks.
