2006 Chrysler Town & Country Air Bag Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service an Air Bag Curtain on 2006 Chrysler Town & Country?
A: Before anything else, disconnect the negative battery cable and wait two minutes before the reserve capacitor discharges, to make sure there won't be an accidental air bag deployment while working on the curtain air bag. Take out the headliner first and afterward unplug the curtain air bag squib connector. Remove the bolt from the front tether of the curtain air bag and unclip it from the A-pillar afterward. Unscrew the curtain air bag from its place in the roof side rail and then undo the mounting bolt from the curtain air bag inflator. Take away the bolts holding the curtain air bag to the roof rail where the d-pillar is found. Pry the push fasteners apart with a trim stick or equivalent, then remove the curtain air bag as an entire assembly from the side roof rail. Line the air bag around the retaining holes in the roof rail, snap it closed and then install the bolts. First, use the side curtain air bag front tether on the A-pillar, then attach the bolt to the inflator bracket and lastly add the retaining bolts at the d-pillar. Link the curtain air bag squib connector, then attach the headliner back again. Before fastening the battery's negative cable, check that the system has been tested to guarantee safety, confirm everything works fine, shut the hood and inspect vehicle functions.
