How to Maintain and Fix a Door Handle on 2006 Dodge Dakota?

Remember to remove the watershield before you handle any front door repairs or service. After that, cut the clips apart and take out the cylinder lock and connecting link from the front door latch. Either remove the nuts or take off the handle and loosen the electrical connector if your bike carries one. After that, cut out the links and divide the clips. If you have the needed equipment, take out the lock cylinder. If your lock comes with a cylinder, start with that and then install the links into the clips on the handle. If available, join the electrical end to the engine, close the nuts and tighten them to 4 N.m (38 in.lbs.). Take the links from the outside handle and lock cylinder and install them on the latch, then install the watershield and modify the latch to check that it is latched when you pull on the door.
