How to maintain a tailgate handle on 2006 Dodge Dakota?

Removing the cover to expose the mounting bolts so as to service the tailgate handle. Unscrew the three screws, remove the latch links and remove the handle. Install the handle, reconnect the links and screw tightening to 26 N.m (19 ft.lbs.). Install the cover back on in case it has been removed.
