How to Maintain Your Wiper Blade on 2006 Dodge Dakota?

Before you carry out wiper blade service, ensure the wiper arm cannot spring back against the glass without the blade on board. Hold the wiper arm up at an angle until the blade lifts away from the glass and is held by the arm hinge in the over-center position. Press the latch release tab under the tip of the arm to open the blade, then slide the blade towards the pivot end until it comes loose from the pin at the tip of the arm. Use your fingernail or a towel to poke the hook upward through the superstructure next to the pivot block and then gently put the wiper's tip on the windshield. Pull the wiper arm so that it completely goes up and the wiper arm is in the center of the movement. Make sure the notched edge of the wiper element flexor faces the wiper pivot as the wiper blade is aligned with the tip of the arm. Put the hook formation through the opening in the blade superstructure closer to the pivot block than to the front of the blade. Slide the pivot block into the hook and the lock will release with a click; only then should you gently lower the wiper blade and element over the glass.
