2006 Dodge Durango Battery Tray Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain a Battery Tray on 2006 Dodge Durango?
A: The first step of servicing the battery tray is removing the battery from it and then removing the upper two bolts (1) holding the battery tray in place. Then, take out the right front tire and wheel assembly and afterwards, remove the right front wheelhouse splash shield. Afterward, get rid of the lower battery tray (1) bolts (2) and the wiring clips under the battery tray. First, take out the battery temperature sensor from the tray and afterward pull the battery tray from your vehicle. Before returning the battery cell to the car, wash and examine the battery tray (1). Install the lower bolts (2) into the battery tray (1) and tighten them to stay at 12.4 N.m (110 in. lbs.). Place the right front wheelhouse splash shield and put back the right front wheel and tire. Tie the battery temperature sensor into position on the battery tray and then join and secure the upper bolts, holding the tray onto the fender frame with torque between 12.4 N.m and 110 in. lbs. Put the battery into the battery tray.
