2006 Dodge Durango PCV Valve Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain the PCV Valve on the Oil Filler Tube on 2006 Dodge Durango?
A: Around the oil filler tube is a cam lock with two locating tabs that fit into the PCV valve. The valve is sealed with an O-ring to the tube. Before doing anything else, you must disconnect the PCV line by taking off the rubber hose at the fitting of the PCV valve. Then, rotate the valve downward (counter-clockwise) until the tabs no longer catch on the cam lock and as you remove it, make sure it stays downwards and does not have to be forced to come off. After taking out the O-ring, make sure it is in good shape. Make sure to line up the locating tabs with the cam lock, put the end of the valve into the tube, press in and rotate upward until you hear a slight sound. The valve should go against the rear of the car and then attach the PCV line and rubber hose to it.
