2006 Dodge Stratus Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Brake Master Cylinder on 2006 Dodge Stratus?
A: Before servicing or repairing the brake master cylinder, remove the vehicle wiring harness connector connected to the brake fluid level switch inside the brake master cylinder fluid reservoir. Later, remove the brake tubes from the outlets on the brake master cylinder and use install plugs in those openings. Using Mopers Brake Parts Cleaner or an identical product, clear off the surface around the brake master cylinder where it manages the booster. Remove those two nuts beneath the brake master cylinder assembly and then draw the assembly off the mounting studs. When installing, put the brake master cylinder onto the studs of the power brake unit so that the push rod from the power brake vacuum booster faces the brake master cylinder's piston. Screw the two nuts into the motor and tighten them with a torque of 26 Nm (230 inch lbs.). Put the brake tubes into the primary and secondary ports on the brake master cylinder, then tighten their nuts to the required torque of 17 Nm (145 inch lbs.). Connect the harness back to the switch and insert new, clean Mopers Brake Fluid or an equal type into the brake master cylinder. After all the work is done, drive the vehicle to confirm that the brakes are working correctly.
