2006 Dodge Stratus Oil Filter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Change an Oil Filter According to the Maintenance Schedule on 2006 Dodge Stratus?
A: Follow the changing interval for engine oil found in the Schedule of Maintenance. Both used and new engine oil can bother your skin which is why you should limit direct contact with your skin. Internal combustion can cause health problems due to contaminants in used engine oil; wash your skin well with soap and water and never clean it with gasoline, diesel fuel, thinner or solvents. Put any used engine oil into an appropriate container and dispose of it at a center recommended by your local government agency or local dealer. Once the engine temperature has risen, park the vehicle level on the ground and power off the engine. Lift the hood, open the oil cover plate, remove the oil fill cap and put the vehicle up on a hoist. Under the crankcase drain, locate a suitable drain pan, open the drain plug and let the oil empty into the pan. Watch for any damage or stretching on the threads and if it is there, replace both the drain plug and gasket. Unscrew the oil filter and attach and fasten the drain plug in the crankcase. Take out the old oil filter, lower your vehicle and add the proper type and quantity of engine oil to the crankcase. Secure the cap onto the filler port, begin the engine and check if anything is leaking. Turn off the engine and check the oil level in your car. Safety should be kept in mind when supposedly engine oil after it has been drained.
