A: To repair and service the intake manifold we have to do the Fuel System Pressure Release procedure first and separate the negative cable on the battery. Snip the resonator assembly and air inlet hose and cut the throttle and speed control cables loose. Then, remove the electrical connections of the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor, Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor, Throttle Position (TPS) Sensor, Coolant Temperature (CTS) Sensor as well as the Idle Air Control (IAC) Motor. Remove the vapor purge hose and brake booster hose and speed control servo and positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose. Take off the generator and the air conditioning compressor and disconnect the left and the right radio suppressor strap and take off the ignition coil towers. The top oil dipstick tube retaining bolt and ground strap should be removed and also the fuel rail and throttle body assembly with its mounting bracket. Make the cooling system cool below coolant temperature limit, disconnect the heater hoses on the engine front cover and heater core and take off the heater hoses and pipes, unclip and take off the heater hoses and pipes on intake manifold. Engine support is provided by engine support fixture (1), special tool # 8534, and the right side engine mount to frame bolt (3) is removed. Keep the engine lowered until the engine mount can be left to lay in the frame mount and remove the intake manifold fasteners in reverse order to the tightening sequence and the intake manifold can be removed. To install, firstly install the intake manifold gaskets, then intake manifold itself followed by the intake manifold retaining bolts in the mentioned order and tightens the retaining bolts to 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.). Install back the left and right radio suppressor straps followed by throttle body assembly and lastly the throttle cable and speed control cable to the throttle body. Install the fuel rail and ignition coil towers, mount and install the heater hoses and tubes on the intake manifold and Kong the heater hoses with the heater core and engine front cover. Reassemble electrical connectors of the MAP Sensor, IAT Sensor, TPS Sensor, CTS Sensor, IAC Motor, ignition coil towers and fuel injectors. Install the best oil dipstick tube retaining bolt, and ground strap and the generator and air conditioning compressor. Plug in the vapor purge hose, brake booster hose, speed control servo hose and PCV hose after which the cooling system has to get filled. Lift engine with support equipment (1) and engagement instrument # 8534 and fix distance right engine support pin (3) on to the engine case.
