2007 Jeep Commander Intake Manifold Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove the Intake Manifold on 2007 Jeep Commander?
A: It is important to follow the Fuel System Pressure Release, remove the negative cable from the battery and then remove the intake manifold. After that, take the resonator assembly and air inlet hose off and unplug the electrical connector for the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor (2). Detach both the vapor purge hose, the brake booster hose and the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose. Take out the generator and the air conditioning compressor, next disconnect the ETC connector from the throttle body (3) and remove the ignition coil towers. After removing the top oil dipstick tube retaining bolt, also remove the EGR tube (1), the fuel rail and the throttle body assembly (1). Remove the coolant from the cooling system when its temperature is below the mark and use the engine support fixture (1) with tool #8534 at the back of the engine. After removing the right side engine mount to frame bolt (3), drop the engine until it rests in the frame mount. After that, take out the intake manifold retaining bolts in reverse order and remove the intake manifold.
