How to Maintain a Differential Cover on 2006 Jeep Liberty?

Before removing the cover, have the vehicle up on a hoist, make sure it is in neutral, remove the drain plug and cover bolts and drain the lubricant. Put a small line of orange Mopar Axle RTV sealant or a similar sealant on the housing cover for the installation. Remember to install the cover within 3 to 5 minutes since, if you don't, you will have to clean it and reapply RTV to stop leaks. Upon locking the cover and identity card, secure the bolts in a pattern by tightening them to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.). Lastly, put the differential fluid in until it reaches the required level and install the fill plug.
