How to Service and Repair a Door Latch Assembly on a Half Door on 2006 Jeep Wrangler?

When working on the front door latch of a half door, first remove the trim panel. Start by disconnecting the lock cylinder from the latch rod, followed by the connecting the lock knob and the outside handle straight to the lock cylinder. Get the trim stick or like device and lift back the door weather strip at that point which will reveal the screw connecting the latch to the door and remove those screws. Lower the door latch and take the inside handle off the latch rod before taking the latch out of the door. Installing is easy: place the latch back in the door and join the inside handle to the latch rod. Set the latch onto the door and secure it with screws, relocate the weather strip, apply adhesive as needed and hook up the outside handle, lock knob and lock cylinder to the latch rod before putting back the trim panel.
