2006 Jeep Wrangler Tie Rod End Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Tie Rod End on 2006 Jeep Wrangler?
A: To take care of the tie rod end, remove the cotter pins and nuts found at the steering knuckle and drag link. Use tool C-4150A to help remove the ball studs. If you're not using them, unfasten the bolts securing the end clamps and Release the tie rod ends from the tube. Should installation be necessary, add the tie rod ends to the tube, place the tie rod clamp in the right position and tighten it to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.). Then, connect the tie rod to the drag link and steering knuckle and put in 47 Nm (35 ft. lbs.) torque onto both the ball stud nut on the steering knuckle and the one on the drag link. You should finish by replacing all the cotter pins.
