How to Maintain and Fix a Steering Wheel on 2006 Jeep Wrangler?

For service or repair of the steering wheel, you must first turn off and remove the driver's side air bag. Start by just loosening the steering wheel bolt; leave it in place and mount C-3894-A or another suitable puller, putting the puller jaws into the slots around the armature. Get rid of the steering wheel. It is important to put in a brand new bolt for the steering wheel when fitting it. Fit the steering wheel to the column, tightening the mounting bolt to the right specification so that the Clock Spring works perfectly. Set the new steering wheel bolt in place and tighten to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.), after which install the drivers side air bag.
