2007 Chrysler 300 Air Bag Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace and Install an Instrument Panel Assembly with a Deployed or Non-Deployed Air Bag on 2007 Chrysler 300?
A: If an air bag is deployed in a passenger seat, the top portion of the instrument panel must be changed. First, get rid of all the powder inside your vehicle. Check and move over all reusable parts on the old instrument panel top pad to the new one. Slide the new passenger air bag to the instrument panel and use the two lower bolts to hold it. Make sure to torque the bolts to 11.6 Nm (103 in. lbs.). After that, add the four passenger air bag mounting screws, tightening them to 2.8 Nm (25 in. lbs.) and then connect the passenger air bag's electrical connector. Ensure you have not connected the battery negative cable before installing the new instrument panel. Connections should only be made after the test or this might put your safety at risk. For an aircraft not set up for air bags, swing the air bag so it nestles under the instrument panel and remove any things in the way. Attach the passenger air bag to the cavity in the passenger air bag door and secure both passenger air bag mounting bolts to the crosscar beam, with a torque of 11.6 Nm (103 in. lbs.). Connect the passenger air bag's electrical connector, then mount two inboard screws under the passenger air bag to its left, just beneath the distribution duct and torque them both to 2.8 Nm (25 in. lbs.). Fasten the two outboard screws below the passenger's air bag close to the distribution duct and secure them with 2.8 Nm (25 in. lbs.) and likewise secure the glove box and right side silencer pad, leaving the battery negative cable connection until after the test.
