2007 Chrysler Crossfire Drive Shaft Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Repair a Drive Shaft on 2007 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Start by lifting the car up, supporting it and taking off the exhaust system to service and repair the drive/propeller shaft. After removing the intake and throttle induction heat shields, take out the center exhaust nuts and the entire heat shield, before moving on to the rear transmission tunnel support nut bolts and the bracket itself. Use a jack to support the car after transmission separation and take out the transmission mount bolts and the transmission crossmember bolts, but leave the jack in place until you have taken the crossmember out of the vehicle. You need to mark the places for the front and rear propeller shaft flanges, as well as all the bolt positions, to ensure the driveline is balanced when you have to take them apart. Remove all three back propeller shaft bolts installed into the axle pinion flange and take out the rear propeller shaft. With that done, unscrew the three bolts at the transmission output flange that hold the front propeller shaft and take off the shaft. In the end, loosen and remove the center bearing bracket bolts, then slowly take out the propeller shaft from the vehicle.
