2007 Chrysler Crossfire Wheel Bearing Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Wheel Bearing on 2007 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Raise and support the car, remove the wheel and tire before proceeding. Remove the rear axle halfshaft nut, disc brake calipers and the bolts and afterward the disc brake rotor. You should bolt the special tool to the halfshaft flange with three 12 x 1.25 x 32 mm bolts, instead of the wheel lug bolts. Collaborate the Puller 6790 through your C-637CF Slide Hammer to loosen the rear axle halfshaft flange and then reverse the rear knuckle assembly. Take off the snap ring (4) from the rear knuckle assembly and, if it's necessary, use Special Tool 9199 to remove the bearing (4) from the knuckle (2) together with the inner wheel bearing race. However, this removal may be unnecessary if the inner wheel bearing race stays in the wheel bearing after the axle halfshaft flange comes off. The inner wheel bearing race from the rear axle halfshaft flange can be pressed out using Special Tool 1126 Splitter. In addition, measure the lateral and radial runout of the rear axle halfshaft flange and change the flange if the lateral value is over 0.0011 in. (0.03 mm) or the radial value is over 0.0011 in. (0.03 mm).
