2007 Chrysler Crossfire Ball Joint Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Effectively Service and Repair a Ball Joint on 2007 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: Initially, you should raise the vehicle, support it and then take out the front wheel and tire for access to the ball joint. Once done, unbolt and remove the cross shape on the front dust shield, take out the front disc brake caliper and disc and detach the front dust shield by removing three hex bolts. Get rid of the front shock absorber bolt, the spring and then detach all the nuts holding the lower ball joint in place. Don't use air tools when tightening the bolt on Special Tool 9168 Ball Joint Puller when removing the outer ball joint stud from the steering knuckle. Apply Special Tool 9168 Ball Joint Puller to press the lower control arm into position and remove the upper ball joint stud.
