2007 Chrysler Crossfire Coil Springs Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Remove Coil Springs on 2007 Chrysler Crossfire?
A: First, rest your vehicle on the wheels, then remove the upper shock in order to get to the coil spring nut. After that, take out the washer and rubber mount. Lift and support the vehicle and then unbolt and remove the lower nut and bolt to take out the shock. Support the lower control arm using a suitable device and raise it so it is slightly above the ground, checking for damage and right function while wearing screen to guard you from falling objects. When using the machine, put on gloves and eye protection. Avoid hurting yourself by preloaded springs when handling them. With Special Tool 9151 Spring Compressor and 9152 Clamping Plates, slowly compress the front spring. Unthread the nuts from the bolts connecting the lower control arm to the car and take out the bolts from their mounting points. Lower the supporting device as you swing down the lower control arm with the front spring in hand. After enough space forms between the lower control arm and upper spring perch, take the spring from the vehicle.
